Why you should not rely too much on Google
search for the opinion or the facts. The fact is ,the information reflecting
mostly on Google search, is provided by substandard and low-grade material, which
gets crawled as top rankings on websites. The reason is quite obvious. There are
tools like search engine optimization (SEO). Using Keywords, semantics keyword research and much to get the second-rated information ranked on top of the
Google search pages. In other words technology beats and trounces the quality. It
is Gadgets, Google and SEO, which is being used, or rather abused by the website
owners. My apprehensions are not unfounded and there is a reason to believe so.
Let’s discuss. Please find below the points
mentioned, as a reason that Google search engine is not a gospel truth while
relying on facts or opinions.

1.Google
on its search engine, kept for so long that Narender Modi was one of the top 10
criminals of the world. Ironically you find the name of Arvind Kejriwal,Ram
Jeth Malani and George Bush in the list. You may not agree that Narender Modi
is the best Prime minister or Arvind Kejriwal as best CM but to rate them in
top 10 criminals of the world is simply horrendous and atrocious.
2. While I was searching on Google to find the
top 10 all-time greatest Bollywood actors, I was shocked to see the list where
pretty normal actors are listed in the website and the greatest of legends are
missing. The names of Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Anil Kapoor,
were listed at no 4, 5, 6 and 7 respectively. As a movie buff the statistics
shocked me completely. The names of legends like Sanjeev Kumar, Balraj Sahini,
Naseeruddin Shah, Dev Anand, and Om Puri were absolutely missing. Imagining Salman
Khan and Shahrukh over Sanjeev Kumar or Balraj Sahini is insane. It is stupid
and the people following those website to conclude facts are ill-advised.
3. When I was trying to find the top all time, top 10
Bollywood singers (Male). I got a list in a website which is ranked on the
first page of Google.In top 10 the website has linked the singers like Abhijit,
Sonu Nigan, Shaan, Kumar Sanu but there is a no mention of legendary singers
Mukesh, Manna Dey, Talat Mehmood, K L Saigal, etc.

most abused poets on the internet are Mirza Ghalib and Gulzar Sahib. Any crap
is being written and quoted as Ghalib and Gulzar, which is impertinent and
insulting to the massive talent they have. Gulzar sahib was once grilled by
young girls outside his Pali Hill Home to celebrate the poem which Gulzar sahib
has written. When Gulzar Sahab asked the girls, which poem they are referring
to, they informed him “Auratein bhi ajeeb hoti hain “.Talking to HT
on the growing phenomenon of poems wrongly attributed to him, the veteran poet
said, “Earlier I used to say 99 per cent poems on Whatsapp posted as mine are
wrongly attributed to me, but now I can say for sure that 100 per cent of them
are fake. I had written a poem called ‘Adatein bhi ajeeb hoti hain’ (Habits are
strange, indeed) but I would certainly not write that women are strange!.
We have numerous quotes on the internet which
are being attributed to the greats like Einstein, Shakespeare, Wordsworth, Iqbal
etc. But the fact is they have never said them.
I am not against Google and I do not hate it
either. In fact Google is the best available resource to you, but you need to
be very intelligent to filter correct information from the incorrect. Unfortunately, most people cannot keep up with
SEO because it is a full-time job. Search engine algorithms change all the
time, which has caused many successful online businesses to go under. It
needs investment and not the quality. So quality is getting lost to technology.
What Google should focus
on is to upgrade the algorithms in a way to optimize quality? They should try
to learn from Wikipedia to seek citation for the authenticity to replace the jugglery
of SEO in website ranking. They should give utmost importance to material which
is free of plagiarism and allow the budding writers to encourage without the
cumbersome techniques of using technical automation.
